WICHITA, Kan. – The Shocker Bowling program will hold a media day on Tuesday, April 9 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Northrock Lanes located at 3232 North Rock Road.
Members of both the men’s and women’s teams as well as coaches will be available for interviews and pictures. Media kits will also be given out, which feature: this season’s press releases, tournament record, player and coach bios and the Intercollegiate Team Championships schedule and information.
Shocker Bowling’s nationally ranked teams compete at Northrock Lanes the following week in the Intercollegiate Team Championships. The tournament is held from April 14 through 18. Competition begins on the 14 with singles competition, continuing with team play from the 16th through the 18th.
Since the first national tournament in 1975, the Shockers have won 19 national championships; ten men’s titles and nine women’s titles. No other program in the USA has exceeded these record totals.
The United States Bowling Congress (USBC) will provide extensive coverage of the tournament at www.bowl.com. USBC will live stream singles competition on April 14 from 8:45 a.m. EST. through 6:45 p.m. EST. Team coverage begins on April 16 from 9:45 a.m. EST. through 9:00 p.m. EST. continuing the next day, April 17 from 9:15 a.m. EST through 10:00 p.m. EST.
