Go Back to School or College at any Age

TRIO Logo

If you are over age 30, most likely it has been years since you've been in school. Perhaps you are an adult who never went to college. Maybe you took some college classes early on, only to withdraw as life and work became more demanding. Now is the time to contact the EOC Program for assistance to apply for technical school, community college or university level classes. Let us help you enroll for Fall 2020 classes.

Many Adults who are limited income qualify for up to $6,195 in Federal Pell Grants. It is not too late to file and submit the FAFSA. This is a free service. We are TRIO.

Zoom screen shotCarlotta States that: "Before starting College, in the Summer of 2019, I knew very little about the college entry process. It was suggested that she connect with the Wichita State University TRIO EOC Program. EOC staff helped me understand the college lingo and what to expect while in college! I am Grateful!"

Carlotta is currently enrolled at Butler County Community College and working on her Associates Degree in Social Work. Carlotta received a semester grade of an "A" in her class on Information Processing Systems. Way to go Carlotta - Keep up the great work!!

Self-Care

Self Care is necessary for men and women. It is any activity that a person does deliberately in order to take care of their mental, emotional, and physical health. Although it's a simple concept, self-care is something most people very often overlook. Good self-care is key to preventing bad moods and poor health. Register for the Zoom Self-Care workshop. Bingo cards and fun for all players. Contact Staysha at EOC.

What Book are You Reading?

Educated

Educated tells the story of the author Tara Westover as she struggles against her family's isolationist and religious beliefs. Tara writes that she had to fight for an education. In her struggle, she learns what it means to be educated. A bonus is that Tara learned much more about the world than what's contained in books. Join Jed Shepherd as he leads an eye opening discussion about Educated.
