Shocker Support Locker

The Shocker Support Locker, formally, the Shocker Food Pantry, was founded by the 58th session of the Student Government Association on November 4, 2015. The Shocker Support Locker opened its doors on February 1, 2016 to all Wichita State University students, faculty and staff. We encourage visitors to take food, hygiene, clothing, baby products and more that meet their personal needs.

The Shocker Support Locker is located on the first floor of Grace Wilkie Hall Room 103, right next to the Military and Veteran Student Center and the LAS Advising Center.

How It Works?

Students, faculty or staff are able to visit the Shocker Support Locker as many times per week as needed to take up to 25 items per week. You will need to make sure you have a valid WSU ID and bring it with you each time you visit to swipe in. If you do not have your WSU ID with you, we can add it to the list.

Mission of Shocker Support Locker

The Shocker Support Locker, through the ongoing generosity of the Wichita State community and community partners seeks to empower Shockers along their journey at Wichita State University with temporary supplemental assistance. The Locker aims to alleviate food insecurity on campus and contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of our students, faculty, and staff, by providing a variety of nutritional and functional resources to Shockers at no cost.

Location and Operation

The Shocker Support Locker is located in the Grace Wilkie Hall Room 103. We are open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (except when campus is closed). There is a variety of non-perishable food items such as canned fruits, vegetables, proteins, snacks, soups, meals and mixes, and grains and starches such as rice, noodles, and pasta.

To make the pantry as accessible and easy to use as possible, the only eligibility requirement is that individuals must be currently enrolled Wichita State students, or currently employed faculty/staff. Students and faculty/staff can use the pantry once per week, and may take up to 25 items per visit.
