50 attendees to consist of local historians, WSU History Dept., Alumni, Students
Locale? L. W. Clapp House? Old Town?
Intent of gathering = to meet and socialize with other historians within the metropolitan
area

Constitution for Society for Public Historians (SPH)
Review Phi Alpha Theta s constitution
Try and locate the original (if it exists) constitution for the SPH
Social Gathering for local practicing Public Historians and students
Possible places for Gathering: Orpheum Theatre, Cowtown
Vanya offered this tidbit that Cowtown will be hosting the KHTA
Conference fall of 2001.
SPH may wish to postpone Gathering for this year and concentrate on the 2001 KHTA
conference
SPH will continue to meet over the summer break
Angie Miller offered her place for possible meeting place, since she has a pool.
No fishing poles or equipment allowed in the pool!
So far, dues are in for everyone. SPH now is official with its own account and accepts
checks.
Prof Price still plugging away at the History Alumi list
Once again, the train made an appearance and railroaded Sandra Reddish in as Secretary
for SPH.
Congratulations to Barbara Hammond, for she not only graduates this spring, but more
importantly, she has a job within in the history field.
Odd Bits:
Samuel Adams Spring Ale receives a thumbs-up!
While not a requirement for SPH meetings, food and drinks somehow always make an
appearance.
Next meeting: May 20 (Saturday) at Doug Miller s home. (Warning: Puppies will be
present at next meeting!)
