Mario Raymond
We are so excited to welcome Mario Raymond to the School of Performing Arts as a guest adjunct faculty member and lighting designer for the 2026-27 academic year.
Mario Raymond is a lighting designer specializing in theater, musicals, opera, and dance. He possesses an MFA in Theatrical Design and Technology from Wayne State University, as well as a BFA from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. His portfolio includes work for Detroit Opera, Florida Repertory Theatre, Hope Repertory Theatre, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, and Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre. This upcoming fall, he is scheduled to undertake design projects for the Purple Rose Theatre Company and the Kansas City Repertory Theatre. Previously, he served as Lighting Supervisor at Lyric Opera of Kansas City and held the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Lighting Design at the UMKC Conservatory.
