WICHITA, Kan. – Once again, the Shocker Bowling Program is offering three Youth Weekend Camps, a Nuts and Bolts camp and a day camp during the summer of 2017. Registration is open online now!
The Youth Weekend Camps, which sold out last year, are the most inclusive of all the camps. Campers check in on Friday evening. Saturday and Sunday is full on-lane and classroom instruction, as well as fun activities in the evening times. Monday features a Baker tournament and a closing lunch. Campers are housed in the new Shocker Hall dorms where they sleep and eat their meals.
The beautiful Rhatigan Student Center and Shocker Sports Grill and Lanes, where the Shocker Bowling teams train, host the classroom and bowling portion of all the camps.
Nuts and Bolts follows the exact same curriculum as the Youth Weekend Camps do on Saturday and Sunday, without all of the frills. Campers are responsible for their own lodging, however lunch is provided each day. Nuts and Bolts is Saturday and Sunday only.
Physical game is the main focus of the Day Camp. There will be a few classroom sessions to talk about lane play and the mental game. Lunch will be provided for the campers.
Youth Weekend Camps kick off June 16-19, which is a boys only camp. The co-ed Youth Weekend Camps are June 23-26 and July 7-10. The Nuts and Bolts Camp is July 29 and 30 and the Day Camp is July 12.
Registration for all camps can be done online. Head to www.wichita.edu/bowling and click on “Shocker Bowling Camps.”
