Post Season Begins: At the end of the regular season, the Lady Shocks found themselves ranked first and the Shocker men in third. Since both teams were in the top 64, they were invited to the Intercollegiate Team Championships sectional qualifier.
One of Four: The Shockers are at USA Bowl in Dallas this weekend, one of four sectional sites. Smyrna, Tenn., Allentown, Penn. and Addison Ill. are the other three sites. The top four from each sectional will qualify to the Intercollegiate Team Championships.
History of Success: The Lady Shocks are looking for their 35th consecutive trip to the national tournament, the longest streak in the nation. Since college bowling first started having a national tournament in 1975, the women of Wichita State have only missed qualifying for nationals once. The men are looking to make the trip to the Intercollegiate Championships for the 34th time in program history.
Singles and Team: This weekend serves as the qualifier for both the Intercollegiate Team Championships and the Intercollegiate Singles Championships. Singles qualifying is on Friday with team qualifying on Saturday and Sunday.
Singles Players: Junior Josh Brown is the lone Shocker bowler bowling in the Addison sectional. Sophomore Jonathan Bowman and freshmen Bradley Crouse, Connor Egan and Alex Sorge are bowling in Allentown. In Dallas bowling are seniors Packy Hanrahan, Mitch Hupé, Jack Stewart and Justin Zwaschka, juniors Alex Lankford, Thomas Peters and Doug Wagner, sophomores Brandon Biondo, Enzo Hernandez, Ryan Kendall, Wesley Low and Derek Vonarx and freshmen Kamron Doyle, Joe Grondin and Jerod Hromek. All of the ladies competing in the ISC sectional tournament are competing in Dallas this weekend: seniors Ashlyn Herzberg, Kristie López and Laura Plazas, juniors Sydney Brummett and Hollyann Johansen, sophomores Estefania Cobo, Kayla Ovesny and Brooke Woodard and freshmen Natalie Dutton, Cassie Edgar, and Kaitlyn Rudy.
Sectionals Teams: Brummett, Cobo, Herzberg, Johansen, López, Ovesny, Plazas and Woodard make up the women’s team for the weekend. Biondo, Doyle, Hromek, Hupé, Low, Peters, Wagner and Zwaschka are competing for the men this weekend.
Schedule and Format: The formats for both tournaments are pretty straightforward. For singles, all players bowl six games on Friday. The top four players in each sectional plus an additional eight at-large selections qualify for the Intercollegiate Singles Championships. The men start bowling at 8:00 a.m. and the women start at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. For the team portion, everyone bowls 64 Baker games over two days, no bonus pins. The top four in each sectional advance to the Intercollegiate Team Championships in Baton Rouge, La. On Saturday, teams start their first round of 16 Baker games at 8:30 a.m. They come back for another 16 games at 1:45 p.m. On Sunday, 16 more Baker games begin at 7:45 a.m. with the final 16 Baker games beginning at 12:45 p.m.

Looking Ahead: This is the last guaranteed tournament of the season for the Shockers. Should they finish in the top four, the teams would head to Baton Rouge, La. to compete for the the programs 21st and 22nd National Championships at the end of April.
