Rebecca Endicott

BENDER OF TWIGS INDUCTEE 2019

Rebecca EndicottBecky is a valued member of the Wichita State University Athletics Department. Her contributions over the last 25 years have been numerous and extensive.

Becky started as an intern in the academic student services office in 1992 and was responsible for mentoring student athletes. She soon became the director of student services. In addition to her director duties, she also taught herself the ins and outs of NCAA financial aid. She became the financial aid expert in the department and was invaluable to the administration. She was integral in developing the office with only a part time employee. Becky did the work of several people and never complained or asked for help. In 1999 she became the Senior Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator. In her role as Senior Woman administrator, she has guided young coaches though the process of becoming Division I coaches and understanding the NCAA rules. She has been the sport administrator to over seven athletic teams in her time at WSU, and she serves as the athletic department’s primary liaison to several campus units, including financial aid and the Title IX department. She formerly served as a liaison to the NCAA Division I Softball Committee for three years.

I have had the pleasure of working with Becky her entire time at Wichita State. No job was ever too small for Becky to pitch in and help. I have seen her pull the tarp off a field and help set up tables and chairs for events. She has always given tirelessly to the athletic department and to Wichita State. Becky’s dedication to the athletic department has been a source of inspiration and motivation for everyone she works with.

Becky is a native of Wichita and graduate of Heights High School, Endicott taught and coached at Buhler (Kan.) High School from 1979-83 before moving to Hutchinson Community College, where she was the head volleyball coach for 10 years and the head softball coach for eight years. She is a 1979 graduate of Emporia State, lettering in tennis and softball, and received her Master of Education from Wichita State in 1994.
